Which fertilizer for an organic vegetable garden?
In a vegetable garden, feed the soil first, then the vegetables. An organic soil amendment such as BIOMAZOR® (plant and animal materials) brings soil life back and improves soil structure. POTAGER fertilizer then gives vegetables and herbs their nutrients, released gradually by soil activity.
For a small plot, the Pack Marcel Potager Miniature combines both.
- BIOMAZOR® for the soil
- POTAGER for vegetables and herbs
- The Pack Potager Miniature for a small plot
Which fertilizer for citrus and fruit trees?
FRUITIER fertilizer is formulated for fruit trees, citrus (lemon and orange trees) and berries: it supports yield, quality and consistent harvests. For a potted citrus tree, nutrition matters even more, because the volume of soil is limited.
Seasonal advice is in our articles on citrus care and which fertilizer for fruit trees.
Soil amendment or fertilizer: which comes first?
An organic soil amendment feeds the soil: it builds humus and improves structure and water-holding capacity. A fertilizer feeds the plant: it supplies nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium when the plant needs them. The two work together, in that order.

What sets a Marcel fertilizer apart from a raw material
Mazor®, the base of the whole range, comes from composting organic materials such as plant oilseed cakes, grape and olive pulp or coffee grounds with our patented Cronops® process. This controlled composting stabilizes the carbon, eliminates pathogens and builds up the microflora: the material reaches the soil ready to work, which a raw material does not.
Depending on the formula, sterilized animal materials complete this base; ORVEGA® and ORVEGA 6® contain none.

Garden fertilizer: your questions
Our team’s answers to gardeners’ questions.
When should I fertilize my garden?
In spring for regrowth, then during the season depending on the crops. Soil amendments (BIOMAZOR®, ORVEGA®) can also go on in the fall, so the soil has absorbed them by spring. Rates and timing are on each product page, under “Dose d’emploi” (directions for use).
Can Marcel le Jardinier products be used in organic gardening?
Yes. All the soil amendments and fertilizers in the range are approved for organic farming under EU Regulation 2018/848. That is the correct claim for a fertilizer: it does not carry the organic label, it is either allowed in organic farming or not.
I want 100% plant-based: which one should I choose?
ORVEGA® and ORVEGA 6® are 100% plant-based. ORVEGA® feeds the soil first; ORVEGA 6® gives plants more complete nutrition.
Which sizes are available, and how does delivery work?
3 and 5 kg tubs and 20 kg bags, as clean, easy-to-spread pellets. Packs combine several products from the range. Delivery is free within 24 to 48 hours in mainland France, and tiered rewards apply automatically when you add several bags to your cart.
